Throughout the week, imperative things have happened including M.L.K. day, which celebrates the death of arguably the single most important black activist in the 1960’s. Often M.L.K. day is seen as just another day off but, it’s important to remember the significance of the day. Martin Luther King was a minister who protested against racism by convincing thousands to stand with him using civil disobedience. He is considered to be one of the biggest allies of the civil rights movement. King pushed the government to talk about important topics including poverty and economic class gaps created by racism. It’s essential to remember that M.L.K Day is more than another day off; he fought for equality amongst all people no matter how much adversity he faced.
