Finding a parking space in the morning is one challenge many La Salle students know all too well. Getting to school half an hour early just to find a place to park is definitely not ideal for most. Luckily, La Salle is working to combat this space issue. In October of 2021, La Salle purchased a lot in the back of the school. Located near the football field, this lot took quite a while to obtain as La Salle had to work with the city and the mayor’s office to gain the space. They also had to work with the police academy stationed next to the lot since this area will be divided between the school and the police. The new lot allows for a total of 153 more parking spaces. Construction has already started in the area but there is plenty more that needs to be done. The lot still needs to become paved and connected to the school. It also needs to be hooked up to the electricity. With all this in mind, the lot should be ready in September for the start of the next school year. In the meantime, remember to drive safely and park well- that is, if you find a spot!
