Mr. Walsh, the new visual arts teacher, attended La Salle all four years and graduated in 2014. He lived in Cumberland RI, until his junior year of college at Emerson when he moved to East Boston. After earning a Bachelor of Arts in Media Production with a Minor in Political Communication and Global Studies, he became a school photographer. Mr. Walsh realized he enjoyed working with students and wanted to do more. Eventually he came across a job posting for La Salle and welcomed the opportunity to return to his alma mater. One of his beliefs is that it’s important to meet students where they are and teach by making connections. In 10 years he sees himself continuing teaching at La Salle, but as a Media Production teacher. Starting as young as 9 he enjoyed videography, he made Youtube videos, but his interest increased when he did WLSA in high school. He enjoys documentary and editing. A couple of interesting things about Mr. Walsh include, he is ambidextrous and writes with his left and everything else on his right. Outside of school, his interests include playing basketball, drums, video games, and bowling. He was even in a pee-wee bowling league as a child. In his coming years at La Salle we hope to see him accomplish his goals of becoming a media production teacher as he rejoins our family here at LSA.
