This Sunday, March 5, La Salle students will be competing in the Rhode Island Academic Decathlon competition at Bryant University. Each year, the competition revolves around a specific theme. This year, the theme is The American Revolution: The Birth of a Nation. The Academic Decathlon is a team-based competition where students compete against students from other schools in 10 categories: Art, Economics, Essay, Interview, Language and Literature, Mathematics, Music, Science, Social Science, and Speech. Throughout the day, these students will take challenging exams in Art, Economics, Literature, Math, Music, Science, and Social Science, be interviewed by a panel of judges, and deliver planned and impromptu speeches. Finally, the team will come together at the Super Quiz event to solve the most challenging problems across each category. This year the team is led by Ms. Chapman. Best of luck to all competitors!
